I’m a week late on announcing the winners of the “Super Duper Tech Field Day Contest!” I apologize for that, but I had a really busy week with some travel and I’m finally shaking the dust off.
Overall the turn out for the contest was a bit disappointing. Let me explain.
First, let’s recap the rules:
- You were asked to visit the GestaltIT.com site and review the list of vendors that I would be visiting at Tech Field Day 4
- Then just call into the GlobalConfig Voice Mail and leave a short message the detailed the following
- What you would like to learn from the Vendors
- Why You Follow TechFieldDay
- What you want us to bring back from the Vendors when we visit them.
After a total of 9 entries (Yes only 9 entries) and after filtering out the voice mails that came from the same caller ID with different messages I narrowed it down to three unique messages, all which sound…well, I don’t really know how to describe it. Basically it sounds like you don’t know what Tech Field Day is, or that you were asked to call by someone.
Only two of the three left their names, Steve and Sonny, but nobody left me contact information other than the phone number from the caller-id.
So, I guess this wasn’t the most successful contest even though the prizes were pretty fair in my opinion.
At any rate, Sonny wins an autographed copy of my new book, a globalconfig.net t-shirt, and $500 off any Ascolta virtual-class.

Top prize of an Amazon Kindle, along with the rest of the bundle goes to this guy!

Like I said, I’m a bit disappointed with the participation even though the post had over a dozen re-tweets and over 900 page views. What can you do though? I do want to thank those of you that did participate by calling in.
