How To: Simulate A Nexus 7010 For CCNA Data Center Studies

February 2, 2015 by bcarroll 3 Comments

Today I was going through the DCICT class, one of the classes that you would take of you were working on the CCNA Data Center. Looking at the first day of this class you get a bit into the NX-OS and of course VIRL does support it, but it’s not going to be enough since VIRL doesn’t support the L2 functions you would need. So here’s a handy alternative that simulates a Nexus 7010 and is specifically designed for CCNA Data Center prep. It’s the LammleSim – Cisco Nexus 7010 Simulator.

It’s designed to be used with the CCNA Data Center – Introducing Cisco Data Center Networking Study Guide: Exam 640-911 sold on Amazon.com. Still, if you’re not using the book you can still poke around in the simulator. But the best part is the cost. It’s free! It’s available for both MAC and PC, so grab it today and start poking around.

Happy Labbing!
