I first saw Pluribus Networks at Networking Field Day 7 and I was a fan back then. Shortly, Pluribus will be making another NFD appearance. They are a well funded Private SDN company that recently obtained $50M Series D funding that validates their SDN strategy. While I could speculate what they will be talking about, I’ll leave it to the live stream. I’m excited about the Netvisor OS, a bare metal network hypervisor, and their switches which are actually servers. The Freedom F64 network computing appliance is a 2RU appliance that would replace the TOR switch or the spine switch and does more than just provide switching capability. With the Netvisor OS, it creates an application fabric that
can host network-based services as well as applications ( think NFV, Orchestration and so on..). Again, the whole package known as the Pluribus Freedom Architecture, is a pretty slick solution. Here’s the deep dive from NFD7 on the Netvisor.
And here’s a good one on the Fabric-Cluster Application.
