Well another NFD9 presentation is about to begin way, that of Cumulus Networks. I’ve already written a bit about them over the last few weeks and actually took a test drive on the Cumulus Workbench, an isolated lab environment made available to anyone who asks, potential customers prioritized of course. I absolutely loved the implementation of Cumulus Linux and I have a post with screenshots in the works. The overall configuration was simple, Quagga used for OSPF and familiar brctl commands used for L2 configurations. Its a familiar environment and easy to work with. I’m excited to see what else Cumulus will be discussing with us. It’s typical for companies to drop some deep architectural capabilities that really allow them to stand out. I think Cumulus already stands out, so I’m excited to learn even more.
