If you haven’t heard already, Pearson had a breach due to reported malware. The issue is reported to have no effect on the testing system but more could turn up. It’s something that’s likely to happen to a number of businesses these days but it’s hard to hear it coming from a company that is so tightly knit into the Cisco space. It’s hard to bash the company since I’m an author under the Cisco Press name, which is part of Pearson, but it makes sense. Pearson is a media company and they have been in a bit of trouble as the media landscape has changed over recent years. This leads to cut-backs in IT spending. Who knows what they have running in that network but I kinda wonder if they were using Cisco AMP.
