In an exciting new twist, my sources indicate that the Faulty Clock Component known to degrade and cause failure of several Cisco devices may actually be a Samsung Galaxy Note. We’ve heard that these phones were used to provide a time source for the routers after their widespread recall.
Bart Humperdinkle, a spokesperson for Samsungs sister company JohnYelled, stated that they had to do something with all those broken phones that were recalled and Cisco was in the market for new hardware to expand their data center portfolio.
This is big news folks. We recently had a look inside a data center that was running Cisco gear and our findings are seen in the image below.
As you can tell, this issue actually has in impact on multiple vendors products, especially when housed in the same rack.
We’ve also been told that the TSA will no longer allow you to fly with a Cisco router that is powered on.
We recommend you contact your Cisco Rep ASAP and let them know that you heard about this issue on the Internet.
And by the way…
Yes, this is a joke… mostly. Cisco does have an issue with a faulty component in their network devices that might cause a failure of the device after 18 months or longer. Read the real article on the issue at http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/web/clock-signal.html#~field.
