It's just about time to head to San Diego for CiscoLive. Of course my wife, Celeste, and I are excited to be there. I'll let Celeste post on her own about what she plans to do. But personally, I'm interested to participate in some special events for Cisco Champions as well as spend some time in technical sessions that interest me. I'm not going to be spending much time trying to bring you breaking news, you know that's not my strong suite. What I am keen to spend time on is gathering as much information as I can to help my students to be successful. Here are a few areas that I'll be focusing on and in a few ways, delivering information to you.
I've had a focus recently on CCNP Security video training and since I'm almost done with all titles in the CCNP Security SENSS exam I'll be starting to focus on the three other exams and how I can provide the most relevant and the best training possible. There are a few sessions I plan on attending to hear about the material from someone else's point of view.
I'm also planning to talk about about the CCIE Security as well. I started the CCIE Security video training last year but put it on hold while I worked in the CCNP Security first. Once I finish that my plan (tentatively) is to return to the CCIE Security courses. Spending the time on the CCNP Security first has given me the opportunity to get the workflow down. This will make the CCIE Security videos much higher quality I believe.
Cisco's Latest in Security
Since it's important to keep up on the latest trends in security as well as the latest vendor offerings, I'll be paying attention to cisco's Security products. They released the ASA with FirePower recently and I'm sure that it will be a featured technology as well. I'm also interested to see what more that have to say on Security and ACI.
But Wait, There's More.
Of course you know I'm also planning on catching up with all the really smart people that I usually only get to see once a year. Twitter is great but I personally get so busy sometimes, especially since starting my own company, that having a week to be face to face is invaluable. I really look forward to seeing the gang.
Ok that's enough of the “Here's What I Have Planned” post. You have better things to do that read about my plans, but I want to offer this up:
If for some reason you are unable to make it to Cisco live this year and there is something specific in the area of security you'd like me to find out, I'll gladly accept the mission.
There it is. Comment below if you have something, otherwise you'll leave it to my discretion to determine what important news and features I should share.
Well, until next time, Happy labbing!
