Today was a good day. I finished IE day 1 of the 5 day bootcamp and there were only three areas that i had to either search outside of the doc CD or skipped because I couldn’t remember.
- OSPF authentication with a 3000 series and one of the routers required that I disable lls. I knew about the issue but couldnt remember the command. I can not find this on the DOC CD so I think its one of those things that I am just going to have to remember.
- I searched google. Surprisingly nothing from Cisco was helpful but the IE forum returned a thread that did the trick.
- One task said not to allow packets that contain their own routing information. It was right on the tip of my tongue but i couldn’t come up with no ip source route. DUH!
- I ended up skipping it.
- one section asked to disallow telnet out of a router when users SSH into it. I used transport output none on the lines. I think I was too broad. That would ahve killed SSH out if the lab mentioned it later so I probably should have done what the solution did and just used an ACL denying telnet, allowing everything else and applying it with the access-class command.
Well, All-in-all it was a good study day but I am going to take a break and let it settle today. I plan on reviewing some CoDs on areas that I feel I am weak (like WebVPN). Tomorrow Ill watch day 2 of the bootcamp and then go through the day 2 scenarios.
I am actually feeling pretty good right now!

Glad you are feeling confident good luck for the test.
Good luck mate. Mine would be this 29 August 2008! sigh!!! …
