TELoIP will be presenting at Networking Field Day 15 in just a host days. This will be their first appearance at a Field Day event and I’m looking forward to hearing their presentation. This isn’t the first company to present at a Field Day that offers an SD-WAN solution. We’ve heard from several others such as Viptella, Riverbed, VeloCloud, Silver Peak, CloudGenix and others. The SD-WAN market is nothing new and the major players have been around for a while now. The field has matured. But what about TELoIP?
TELoIP is based in Toronto, Canada and has been delivering solutions since 2002. The leadership team includes Rui Luis (CEO and CFO), Pat Saavedra (Founder, President and CTO), and Kevin Suitor (Chief Marketing Officer). The company delivers SD-WAN, SD-Internet, and Orchestration solutions under the VINO (Virtual Intelligent Network Overlay) solution name. Their solution is deployed at the network edge with a VINO Edge CPE device, a VINO controller, the TELoIP Cloud, and the TELoIP Portal. We will likely hear and overview of the complete solution at NFD15.
What I’m Looking For
I’m going to be looking for what makes TELoIP special. In a market that contains many vendors with similar solutions what is TELoIP doing to set themselves apart and why is that important to someone who’s considering the solution? I’ll be looking for some details on how their solution is managed, which differs from other SD-WAN vendor offerings, and how they ensure security within their solution.
What I’m Not Looking For
I will not be looking for an introduction to SD-WAN. However if you are, you can find a decent explanation here. Again, the solution has matured to the point where it’s not a new idea and we probably dont need that overview again.
