Wear Comfortable Shoes.
It seems that every year I leave Cisco Live with sore feet. I overheard someone say they had already walked 5 miles according to their fitness tracker at that was at 10:30 this morning. I ran to Big 5 Sporting goods and picked up a pair of really comfortable Sketchers. So far, so good. I think this may be one of the best investments of the conference. Well, sorta.
Even though we’re inside its still good to stay hydrated. The hotel will sell you water but it gets a bit pricey. Take an uber to Costco or Wal Mart and stock up.
Pro Tip: If you valet a vehicle they give you free water while you’re waiting for your car.
Carry An Extra Phone Charger
There are some charging stations around the Mandalay but a phone charger, specifically an battery to quick-charge is well worth it. If you’re using the CiscoEvents app your battery will take a bit of a hit. Of coruse, twitter, facebook, and snapchat will do the same. Pick one up at Frys Electronics just down the street for about 15 bucks.
Take A Shortcut
I didnt know this the first time I was here but walking through the casino from the Delano hotel to the Mandalay Bay Conference center is the long way around. Instead, walk out into the parking log and just across the walkway is an entrance to the Mandalay Bay. It saves quite a few minutes.
