It allows you to set the screen size you want to record- for example 960 x 600, and creates a .mov natively without the need to export anything.  It also highlights mouse clicks if you want it to.  Much better my opinion.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;As far as the Word Documents go, I wonder how pages or Open Office would handle them?  Formatting may be an issue.&lt;/p&gt;
